Haiku

—Sandip Bhattacharya

Again my breath signs the air,
Freeways stay free,
Jobless recovery.

      ~

No leaf left on liquidambar;
What gold tinges these twigs today…
Finches!

      ~

Sneaking out at dawn
For antipodal con-call
Frost has locked my door!

  1. Sandip, these are great haikus (haiki?). I am glad to get to read them. Haikus are so short that they fly past you when they are read, but on the page, it’s amazing that something so short can contain so much. The second haiku is such a delight to read– Finches!
