Love and Survival

— Paul Retzinger

I have decided to think like the rain
Like the owl and the eagle
The wolf and the rose
Without human prejudice or judgment

Survival with care—and watered in love
Only life and love is sacred
The obvious will work for me
Without human prejudice or judgment

I will open my mind just as the sun shines
A new leaf expands in its growth
Then gives love to the earth
When it briefly falls—with all that it has to give
Without my own human prejudice or judgment

  1. Simply beautiful. Well done. I love poetry. Especially when it’s beautifully penned. Judgment in a double edge sword. Many do not realise.

  2. I just love the idea of thinking like the rain. And the juxtaposition of the wolf and the rose. Such a nuanced but relatable poem!
