Co-host Dennis Richardson introduced August’s featured reader, Christine Richardson, with these words:
As most of you already know, tonight’s reader is Christine Richardson. What you might not know is that she has always had an affair with language, loved reading books to the children in her elementary classes, often with imagined voices. She began writing poetry in the late 70’s when she joined a poetry group of which Hudson was also a member. Three members of the group decided to publish a small book of their poems called “Falling into Place.” It was soon after she started going steady with me that she told me, when she retired the first place she wanted to go to was the Dodge Poetry Festival in New Jersey. We’ve been there five times and, thankfully, she and it is the reason i am a poet too. We joined a poetry group which spun off a workshop given by Nils Peterson and began attending the poetry readings at Willow Glen Books and hence this hosting.
