Imagining “then” now
Imagined “now” then
the mother’s sari
wrapped well on her, then.
and arranged on me, now.
a glimpse to then
and a wrinkle in making
on the curtain of now
illuminating a story of our
delights, battles and boundaries
sari adorning different bodies
sings a passing and an extended song
like the carefully long tucked in pleats
to surround our soul.
occupying our hearts with black, white,
colors of rainbow and clouds
a rhythm in proceedings of life
she and I conveniently comprehend.
straight, twisted, zigzagged play of lines
painting, releasing an adventure of age
that we envision at different times.
