New Horizons

— David Zeltzer

i lightly touch your face
neuron oceans blossom motionless cirrus music
nothing dissolves the snowflake or
clears the dead the stratosphere the microsecond

dogwood glacier lights our
fragment lips kiss thought kiss dark
time darker still kiss
falling leaves kiss ocean dust

photon rhythms kuiper in my wrist
exhausted lips i know
explode your metal dust that waits for
maybe atmosphere maybe nothingness maybe energy

we watch time so far away
my still fingers
touch you
everything is weeping small and slow and cold
