Circling

— Janet Trenchard

Life, I want to get caught
in your web
drink your sticky nectar
eat evil food off your buffet
swoon like jello
into your liquid body
swim blindly
perhaps after centuries
to float up through some window
into a chamber
of shadow light
where two whispering mouths
move continuously
and what soundless waterfall
tumbles from those lips?
It’s nothing new
only Life, once again
the whole parade.
